Intellectual analysis and discourse are not as powerful aids to patterning real living, as are real people who are comfortable with their identity and real nature, and so are able to be present with integrity and openness. It is their integrity which is essential. Integrity is not the product of analysis. Analysis produces fragmentation, not integrity. Integrity is the product of sacrificial lives of love which place openness, honesty, authenticity, sincerity, fidelity, open-heartedness, and truthfulness as shields against alienation which is sin. Real role models are not the product of specialists and/or techniques. They are realized by love. They serve love, rather than serve any creation---and thus avoid idolatry. Therein do they promote wholeness by being role models to youth in search of identity. Fortunate are the babies, infants, children, and young people who find themselves within the womb of a variety of real people with integrity through love. Therein they can freely make choices and realize their God-given potentials according to their unique natures. In the absence of real role models, technocrats often provide static patterns into which they would coerce people. Through analysis they figure out the most efficient and reliable ways to organize society to achieve goals they select. By the study of "cause and effect", they seek to predict the consequences of each possible systematic program for the betterment of mankind. Specialists then seek to make comparative value judgments as to which possibility will maximize whatever it is that those making the decisions value most. This is not likely to promote human fulfillment and meaning because specialists do not know about such values. Through specialization they have excluded consideration of such values. Specialists often deal in terms of absolutes, especially when it comes to ultimate values. They find it very difficult to cope with relative values and comparative value judgments.
