     Socialization is essential to the full  appropriation
of   human  insights.    Insights  which  run  counter  to
socialized insights  are  likely to  be  weaker  than  are
insights which run parallel to socialized insights. Social
approval is important to people and there is a tendency to
appropriate  insights  most powerfully only if  they  meet
with  explicit  social  approval  within  some  supportive
social context.   Essential to such powerful appropriation
is  some  clear  expression  of  the  perception,   social
acceptance  and approval of the  expression,  and personal
acceptance and approval of the social support.

     Socialization of reflexive perceptions is unlikely to
occur within  scientists'   professional societies because
their paradigm tends  towards  exclusive objectivity which
inhibits the clear  expression  of subjective perceptions,
of social acceptance,  and of personal acceptance; each of
which is essential to powerful appropriations of reflexive
perceptions.  Reflexive  perceptions can not  be objective
and   so  are  systematically  excluded  from   scientific
journals and professional meetings.   Such exclusions lead
to  the confusion of ideals, values, priorities, goals and
means;    and  to  the  confusion  of  philosophical   and
technological   analyses  of  scientists'    patterns   of
