Bias may render an experiment biased---due to the way bias affects experimental design. Bias may render the observations of the experiment biased due to the effect of bias upon perceptions and choice of what to focus upon as the most important aspects of the experiment. Bias may render the interpretation of the observations biased---due to the expectations generated by the biased paradigm or theory. Bias may suppress feared observations, interpretations, and theoretical implications---by inhibiting the report of such in the public arena. Any such bias stands in the way of justice and the discovery of truth. Those who choose to support such bias are choosing the kinds of truth which they permit to circulate in the public marketplace of ideas. Yet, such bias is often supported by those who support taboos, collusions, and thoughtlessly ingrained traditions of thought. Many scientists believe that by restricting evidence to only objective evidence they avoid bias. Because of their biased belief they suppress the circulation in the marketplace of subjective insights into how objective bias does violence to personal integrity. Objective bias suppresses public expression of insights about the ways in which the objective bias inhibits the sharing of perceptions gained in intimate subjective personal relationships---which cast fear into the non-objective lives of those who try to limit people's lives to the objective plane. Some people participate in experiments in life styles which are taboo or otherwise forbidden by collusions. Those who fear the discoveries made in those experiments act to suppress the experimental evidence gathered in them---by pretending that such suppression will help transcend bias. They do not permit honest and open public disclosure of the experiences of the participants in those experiments. They do not want such disclosure open for public examination and interpretation through critical examination. They resist efforts to refine the experimental design of such intimate experimentation so as to transcend the bias generated by compulsive objectivity. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
