The instinctive instance of the behavior is judged faulty, when it is the failure of the society to offer the ways appropriate to their developmental stages and passages through the "rooms of life". Sometimes a culture inhibits such behavior which is essential by failing to provide appropriate contexts, and then judges in a negative way the behavior and the people when they express their needs in disapproved contexts. The young child who is forced to sit still in a class-room desk for hours on end is likely to become fidgity---for lack of approved opportunity to exercise. An adolescent is not permitted to express criticisms of social traditions in any socially approved context---and so ultimately engages in "anti-social" behavior which is an expression of those criticisms which were not provided with an approved context for expression. An adolescent experiences desires to relate sexually to other persons, but is not afforded an an approved context within which to relate sexually; an and so engages in sexual behavior which is regarded as immoral because the society did not provided the needed context. The sophisticated intellectual may have no intellectual context within which to express spiritual sensitivity and perceptions, to worship with integrity. Such a person's sub-culture may disapprove anything as naive as worship and so refuse to provide a respectable context to express ultimate concerns. Such an intellectual may as a result engage in perverted worship of cognitive idols and so become an idolater who encourages students to engage in intellectual collusions with ultimate concern. The acts of worship take perverted forms because the intellectual community does not provide a healthy context with in which to engage in worship. The scientist's community may not provide a context within which to relate to students as full human beings, as person with integrity. Through perversions the scientist may seek to be helpful to students by doing for them what the scientist is sure needs to be done for them --- even though the scientist is not familiar with them.
