Jack asks Jill, "What is the name of this pleasure? Can this pleasure be real if it has no name? How can one responsibly enjoy a pleasure which is without a name? How can the word of God commend it to us if there is no word to command the pleasure? If the word of God does not affirm a pleasure how can it be real? How then can it be God's will? How can we make real that which God has not named? Is it not presumptuous of us to create and enjoy that which God has not commanded by a word in His Word?" The legalist will tend to speak\write and say that that which is nameless is not real. We are not responsible for doing that which can not be commended and commanded through appropriate words. In fact, we should look with suspicion upon any enjoyment which has not been commended and commanded through appropriate words. If such enjoyments are tolerated then people will get out of hand of the people who know what is good and what is evil, they will go astray from the words of God as interpreted by men. God's will is contained is his word and words, appropriately interpreted by men. Nameless pleasures therefore can not be part of God's will. Had God wished for us to enjoy such he would have named them so we could think about them clearly, logically, rationally, wisely. Mere men should not presume to be creators of what which God did not chosen to create and name. The spirit who makes all new---affirms in more than words and does not come to those who do not welcome the spirit. The spirit does not enforce requirements upon those who do not welcome requirements. It is the pleasure of the spirit to offer integrative pleasure to those who know how to enjoy integrative pleasure, even if they do not know name with which to point to, describe, or name integrative pleasures. The spirit is not imprisoned in the limited vocabulary of men, and commends realities which have no names by which legalists might seek to control them. Names are means for making comparisons and contrasts, for analysis. The meaning and fulfillment of pleasure do not come through comparison, contrast, and analysis; but within the contexts which with pleasure produce whole people whose pleasure it is to know each other within community with the spirit who is in common.
