Focusing upon GETTING TO YES as a style in conflict resolution --- rather than achieving the false appearance of conflict resolution through: dominance, coercion, violence, and other forms of addictive behaviors. 6. Focusing upon realistic incremental changes and possibilities --- rather than upon unrealistic dreams of sudden utopian transformations of extreme forms. 7. Being realistic about the levels of sophistication and technological complexity which can be sustained with limited resources in space-ship Earth --- in competition with other demands being made upon those limited resources within space-ship Earth. 8. Dealing openly and honestly with the technological instabilities which may be entailed in technological solutions to real problems, and to dilemmas which are treated as technical problems; e.g., electrical and political power-grid instabilities, pollution feed- back due to chemical solutions used, traffic costs of separating homes from work-places, heightened personal and/or communal insecurity due to vulnerable technologies --- and due to technologies which heighten people's levels of vulnerability. 9. Acknowledging that there are many dilemmas which cannot be resolved through the use of any form(s) of technology or systematic procedures --- and dealing with those dilemmas in ways which are appropriate to the reasons they are dilemmas rather than technical problems. 10.
