Different people have different levels of tolerance
for lives which are lived according to different patterns
in regards to individual lives and/or living together.
Different levels of tolerance pertain to tolerance
with regard to any partner(s) in living, and with regard
to awareness of other people of whom there is some
vague awareness of their pattern of living alone or
together.
It is difficult for people to live together if they
have contrasting and mutually incompatible conceptions of
what living together can, should, ought, must, could, be.
The more people who are attempting to live together ---
the greater are bound to be the difficulties in living
together if there are any differences between conceptions
of what living together can, should, ought, must, could,
.... be. The more differences there are --- the greater
will be the difficulties in attempting to resolve
conflicts which originated in the differences. It is
often tragically futile to try to live together
intimately --- when the number and kinds of differences
are extreme. There can also be tragic consequences in
such cases if people live so psychologically separated
from each other that they totally misunderstand and
distrust each other.
