     In  spite  of what behaviorists may  feel  and  think
there  are  real differences in sexual behavior which  are
rooted  in  real differences in being.   Sometimes  people
appear  to  behave sexually without being  sexual;   their
state  of being is then incongruous with their behavior---
an  impossibility  to a  behaviorist.    Such  unauthentic
behavior  reveals  a  lack  of personal integrity  in  the
person's  pattern  of behavior,  and in the  behaviorists'
perceptions.   It is impossible  for a behaviorist to deal
with   unauthentic   behavior  within  the   behavioristic
paradigm.  Deception does not make sense in that paradigm.

     The nature of sexuality and of sexual relationships a
they  are known within a society flow from the  nature  of
human instincts and the nature of the reflexive aspects of
the major operative paradigms which define the society and
its   culture.    The  nature  of  sexuality  and   sexual
relationships differ  from  society  to society because of
the  differing major operative paradigms which define  the
differing societies.   It  is  impossible  to discover the
essential nature of sexuality apart from the nature of the
major operative paradigms which mediate the expressions of
and perceptions of human instincts.

     Societies   change   through   the   development   of
relationships and of individuals  within the society;  and
through the development of how they are  perceived  within
the societies.   Transcending parents'  and mentors taboos
and  collusions  is  not  not  fundamentally  a  cognitive
process.    It  entails  in  an  essential  way  affective
considerations which are different from and  complementary
to  cognitive  processes.    Neither  kind of process  can
