Other people affirm values which would exclude the value of interdependence---they are anti-interdependent in stance. Such "independence" assumes that which is really real is a collection of independent fragments, elementary parts, which each have their independent characteristics which are eternal and unchanging. Interaction between independent fragments takes place according to eternal laws which are unchanging. Thus nothing changes except for the locations of the fragments, and whether or not they exist. Everything that can be specified may be specified by an enumeration of which fragments exist, where they exist, and their momentary condition of motion. There is no fundamental role for personal interdependence and dialogue within such a way of perceiving the relationship between the person who perceives---and that which the person experiences at the conscious and non- conscious level. In an effort to understand personal experience---it is reduced to a model composed of non- personal objects whose existence, nature, and essences are presumed to be independent of the dialogue between the persons who seek to understand their common experiences. It is hard to understand how people who do not take their interdependence to be an essential aspect of their being---can hope to understand their common experiences through being anti-interdependent in their formulation of the basic categories in terms of which they seek to understand their interdependence. How can dialogue be founded upon the presupposition that personal dialogue is impossible---because there are no beings beyond the collections of eternal fragments dancing to eternal laws in a senseless dance of determinism? What fears motivate the tendency toward alienated independence? What hazards lurk in interdependence? What kinds of vulnerability? What punishments for breaking laws? Can the laws of nature be violated? By hypothesis no! The fears must originate in anticipations of human choices, choices which by hypothesis are deterministic! Choices which tend to excommunicate people---who in fear of excommunication by others---choose self-excommunication and anti-interdependence as technical way of coping--- which is logically consistent with the essential alienation of the fragments of reality which are eternally unchanging as they dance to unchanging eternal laws.
