The intimacies of a love relationship are taboo unless certain prescribed conditions are fulfilled. Such perspectives block dialogue and so block mutual awareness and mutual understanding. Legalists dedicated to the preservation of such perspectives tend to intrude into the private relationships between lovers who do not demonstrate ultimate concern and respect for the legalists' systematic ways of regulating human perceptions and behaviors. People who do not have love permits are expected to act properly in public. They are not permitted to be overly friendly or affectionate in public places. They are not permitted to publicly enter private places together---lest they disturb people with the possibility of thinking about secret violations of taboos in private places. The right to love may be regarded in a number of ways. Some people do not think it is right to love unless you have a love permit. They disagree with people who do think there is right to love, because God is Love. Some think that they have a right to love given by others, and demand that others give them the love which they have a right to. They think that their right to love is absolute and demand that others sacrifice to grant them their right. Often their demands are without limit and impose great injustices upon those who are expected to fulfill their demands. Other lovers believe that they have a right to love people without love permits. They object to the behavior of those who contend that the right to love is granted by legalists who regulated the right to love. Lovers' right to love pertain to the right to be in dialogue in ways which are mutually fulfilling and satisfying. The right to love is the extension of the rights of assembly, speech, press, petition, etc. The right to love is the generalization of the right to communicate. The nature of love is to facilitate communication. Those who would control people's rights to love --- presume to control people's rights of communication. Lovers reveal the ulterior motives of those who would grant people love permits in conditional ways, and do so in ways which control dialogue involving legalists. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
