Whenever powerful leaders give us the following signs of corruption; we should NOT give them further honor, respect, trust or support. 1. When leaders seek to concentrate even more power into their own hands --- while taking power, privileges, rights, goods, and services away from poor and vulnerable people; thereby making them poorer and more vulnerable. 2. When leaders spend much time claiming to be honorable and motivated by nobel desires to liberate and help other people --- who are presumably enslaved by evil people who must be tracked down, denigrated and/or destroyed. 3. When leaders suggest or claim that evil is concentrated in individuals and groups --- whom the leaders have labeled as being inherently evil and unworthy to survive the necessary war to rid the world of evil people. 4. When leaders show little interest in or concern about the alienation which they have created between themselves and those whom they have labeled as evil people; or between themselves and commoners who respect the people who have been labeled as evil people. 5. When leaders show signs of arrogance, self- righteousness, insensitivity, and being unwilling to listen in-person to their most profound critics. 6. When leaders show signs of being unwilling to acknowledge the tragic mistakes they have made. 7. When leaders are more willing to spend their limited time with wealthy and powerful people, than with poor and vulnerable people. 8. When leaders abuse guilt, shame and blame as tools with which to heighten the vulnerability of people who are already poor, powerless, vulnerable and low in self-esteem. 9. When leaders insist that they are superior to others who are less powerful, less wealthy and/or less at- ease. 10. When leaders show little or no respect for the diverse kinds of integrities of different peoples and cultures. 11. When leaders are more interested in winning battles and wars at other people's expense --- than in reconciling and healing people who are: alienated, contentious, dis- eased, ill-at-ease, prejudiced, ignorant and dis-advantaged --- though circumstances which have been beyond their control. 12. When leaders show little interest in educating themselves and others regarding the diverse languages, cultures, religions, perspectives and integrities of different people around the whole world. 13. When leaders show little interest in educating themselves and others regarding the basic facts of ecology, limited resources and sustainable economies around the world --- viewed as one-whole-entity within the cosmos-as-a-whole. 14. When the leaders show little interest in preserving the museums, libraries, hospitals, schools, colleges and universities which embody the histories, insights, hopes and aspirations of diverse cultures around the world.
