It is not a simple thing for a community to maintain
balanced leadership:
1. People who are preoccupied with issues of control
are prone to be excessively willing to get, grab, or
accept the duty, authority, right and/or privilege of
being in control.
2. Competent and humble people who recognize the
arrogance and dangers of the above --- may be reluctant to
become associated with the exercise of leadership
authority and powers associated with significant offices.
3. New young leaders may not recognize that they are
in fact among the most qualified to accept significant
offices --- in spite of their lack of experience and/or
training for such offices. Some older leaders may be
reluctant to let go of the power they have --- to younger
inexperienced leaders.
4. Old worn out leaders may be reluctant to continue
to carry the burdens of high offices, looking to younger
more energetic people to be willing to pick up the burdens
of high offices.
5. Prudent persons are likely to fear both the
natural and the artificially contrived consequences of:
making mistakes, blundering, perceptions of arrogance,
perceptions of self-righteousness, and of hidden conflicts
among high values, ideals, and principles, etc.
