Each occasion of blockage is an opportunity to build a bridge; and so to transform conditions which are ripe for violent conflict into opportunities for integrative friendships. To be blessed peacemakers we need to recognize, name, describe, clarify, clearly articulate, talk about, and be in dialogue regarding the roots of our violent conflicts. Our violent conflicts are often Rooted in conflicting: ASSUMPTIONS PERCEPTIONS TRADITIONS IDEALS VALUES GOALS PRINCIPLES PRINCIPALS LEADERS BELIEFS CONVICTIONS PARADIGMS Which are themselves rooted within: INDIVIDUALS FAMILIES CHURCHES CONGREGATIONS SYNAGOGUES FELLOWSHIPS CITIES STATES NATIONS NEIGHBORHOODS PROFESSIONS ORGANIZATIONS Convicts can exist internally within individual persons and communities viewed as whole entities. Conflicts can also exist between individuals and communities viewed as individual entities in relationships with each other. What is the best ways to transcend conflicts--- depends upon the natures of the participants and how the participants in conflicts and the blockages to open and honest dialogue. If we seek to minimize the appearance of conflict we are bound to seek to repress, suppress and punish open and honest dialogue regarding conflicts which are present--- and so create blockages which will promote violent conflict. To transcend violent conflicts we must deal openly and honestly with instances of conflict and with the roots of instances of conflict---to resolve the conflicts and avoid feeding the roots of conflicts---before in frustration people become violent in trying to win battles over those whom they perceive to be evil, enemies, untrustworthy, and as appropriate sacrifices to appease the gods of conflict and violence.
