There are both objective and reflexive aspects of insecurity, defensiveness and reflexive relationships; six aspects (at least) because there are two aspects (objective and reflexive) for each of three realities (insecurity, defensiveness, and reflexive relationships). 1-Obj. The objective aspects of defensive relationships are made evident by objective weapons such as: guns, bombs, and delivery devices such as launchers, airplanes, and rockets; and the objective destruction which they create. 2-Obj. The objective aspects of insecurity are not that obviously different from the objective aspects of defensiveness; for they are reflections of each other which echo back and forth with amplification unless there is conflict resolution. Objective defensive actions are often viewed as offensive actions by in secure people, and engender additional reflexive insecurity---which is expressed in reciprocal objective defensive action which are experienced as offensive actions. The objective escalation of objective reactions which are mirror-image-echoes-of-each-other, are the objective aspects of both insecurity and of defensiveness. 3-Obj. The objective aspects of reflexive relationships are to be seen in the objective echoing back and forth of the objective mirror-images of each other's objective insecurity and objective defensiveness. Each echo and each reflected image is the objective manifestation of the reflexive aspect of the disintegrating objective relationship between the peoples in conflict. 1-Sub. The reflexive aspects of defensiveness may be known existentially by each person who is involved in the process of the deterioration of personal and communal integrity---but they can be honestly shared with others only within contexts where it is safe to take the risks of being vulnerable in being true to self and others. However, within insecure/defensive contexts it is not safe to take the risks of being vulnerable in being true to self and others---and the reflexive aspects of defensive relationships are NOT KNOWN existentially by each person who is involved in the process of the deterioration of personal and communal integrity. 2.-Sub. The reflexive aspects of insecurity may also be known existentially by each person who is involved in the process of the deterioration of personal and communal integrity---under the same constraints noted in regards to the reflexive aspects of defensiveness above. How do they differ? Not in obvious ways which are objectively verifiable. The reflexive aspects of defensiveness and insecurity are mirror-image echoes of each other just as the objective aspects of defensiveness and insecurity are mirror-image echoes of each other. Defensiveness is a reflexive response to insecurity which grows in the absence of true love and so in the absence of the gifts of true love---which are gifts of the freedom to be safely vulnerable in taking the risks of being true to self and others within intimate relationships. Defensiveness and insecurity are dis-eases which are mirror image echoes of each other, and elicit each other in reflexive ways. Defensive behaviors which are perceived to be offensive elicit reflexive insecurity- --which in turn elicits defensive behaviors which are bound to be perceived as offensive in nature. 3-Sub. The reflexive aspects of relationships can be seen in the reflexive echoing back and forth of the reflexive mirror-images of each other's reflexive insecurity and reflexive defensiveness. Each echo and image is the reflexive manifestation of the disintegrating reflexive relationship between the peoples in conflict. The reflexive realities which motivate and drive their objective manifestations are not clearly perceived by people who are insecure and compulsively preoccupied with objective efforts to achieve security through defensive technologies and manipulations. Usually defensive technocratic efforts to achieve security are experienced existentially by the victim-participants as offensive in nature. Conflict resolution appears offensive because conflict resolution is likely to undermine efforts to achieve security through sophisticated technocratic means. Peace and security cannot be imagined, envisioned or enjoyed so long as people continue to be fixated upon and addicted to violent defensive technologies regarded as the means to achieving security.
