A person may be prevented from honest reflection on mistakes because of compulsive preoccupations with objectivity which make non-objective reflexivity taboo. This is illustrated by scientists who are compulsively preoccupied with objective relationships to the exclusion of reflexive relationships which cannot be measured, computed, predicted, controlled, rationalized, etc. Such people cannot enjoy reflexive integrity because it is forbidden by their dominant paradigm. A person may be prevented from honest reflection on mistakes which have been made because they are embedded in an addictive society which is playing collusive games of mutual self deception, wherein certain mistakes cannot be admitted, for to admit to them would be to undermine the pseudo-integrity of the collusion. In such a community it is forbidden to honestly admit to having made the meta- mistake of becoming a participant in the dishonesty of the collusion. The compulsively objective scientist has made the mistake of having become a participant in the collusive meta-games of mutual self deception of people who are pretending that their personal fulfillment can be achieved by being exclusively objective in all their work. They fail to acknowledge that such exclusive objectivity is logically impossible; and pretend that their behavior is "scientific" and so free from bias, when in fact it lacks integrity because those who participate in it are not free to be reflexively honest in considering what it is that they are doing, what it costs to them and to others in resources used, lost opportunities, and in disintegrative consequences. Through neglect of essential aspects of healthy living they themselves lead unbalanced personal lives which in turn lead others to become trapped participants in the collusive paradigm of exclusive objectivity.
