     Ideals and values which  are  not related to previous
experience and to their effects upon personal and communal
integrity  are  bound  to lead to  personal  and  communal
disintegration.

     When  mistakes  are made and failure  follows  it  is
important  to examine the flaws in technique,   education,
ideals and values.  It is not enough to examine the  flaws
in technique and dedication. It may be essential to change
habits  of mind and heart as well as to improve the  level
of dedication and technique.

     If dedication to ideals and values is compulsive  and
absolute (with inadequate reference to experience)  it may
follow   that  meta-mistakes  and  failures  will  not  be
recognized for what they are,  and they will be tragically
repeated in much the same way over and over and over.

     Growth  and maturation involves changes in habits  of
the mind and heart as well as changes in technology.  Only
people who are imprisoned by their ideals and values stick
compulsively  to them while they and their  community  are
disintegrating. To fail to examine ideals and values while
you  and  your  community  are  disintegrating  will  lead
blindly to total disintegration.

     In  order to examine ideals and values wisely  it  is
necessary to have an integrative perspective within  which
to carry out the examination.  Survival of the values  and
ideals  demands that those who are the incarnation of them
survive  as  an integrated community.  Individual  members
cannot survive, and their values and ideals cannot survive
without  the survival of the whole community which is  the
incarnation.   The community cannot survive without  whole
communal  integrity.  Thus it is essential to examine  all
ideals, values, goals and projects in the light of whether
or  not  they  will promote,  both personal  and  communal
integrity.

     Communal  integrity is in turn intimately related  to
personal  integrity;   the two kinds of  integrity  cannot
exist for an extended period of time independently of each
other.

     The  community  which attempts to sacrifice  personal
integrity in the interest of promoting communal  integrity
will  find  that disintegrating individuals undermine  the
integrity of the community.

     The  individuals  who attempt to  sacrifice  communal
integrity  in the interest of promoting their own personal
integrity  will find that a disintegrating community  will
undermine their own personal integrity.

     Communal and personal integrity are essential to each
other;   it is impossible by sacrificing one to  helpfully
promote the other.

     Ideals,   values,   goals  and  all  motivations  and
techniques   need  to  be  examined  in  terms  of   their
consequences  to  both  personal and  communal  integrity.
Where  there are mistakes made and failures occur  because
of  chosen  ideals,   values,  goals,   motivation  and/or
techniques;   there changes need to be made in the related
habits of mind and heart.  In the absence of such changes,
there  will be repetitions of such mistakes and  failures,
and  so  the  consequent disintegrations of  personal  and
