Compulsively objective scientists act as if it is possible to have an essential separation between observer and observed; for such an essential separation is the essence of pure objectivity. In the universe of the pure objectivist there is no knowledge of the ways in which observers are participant objects in the relationships among observers and observed. The essence of the objective collusion is to be found in the dishonest games which compulsive objectivists play regarding the roles they play in realizing what they perceive to be objectively real. Their collusion is a totally non-objective reality which they have created in order to maintain their illusion of pure objectivity. Clear self consciousness is thus taboo in such a collusive society, because confusion is essential to maintain the collusive appearance of objectivity. When clear differences are evident in self conscious awareness of experiences, the fusion of confusion is lifted, and deception is transcended; violating the rules of the collusion. Clear self consciousness is reflexive, not objective. In clear self consciousness there is clarity as to what is separate from self, and what is essentially related to self. In clear self consciousness there is no confusion in fusion of self and other objects; nor is there confusion regarding totality of separation. Confusion can pertain to the appearance of distinctions which are not real. People can be confused in thinking that there is no essential fusion of self and other; thinking that objectivity is ultimately real and essential, that reflexivity is ultimately unreal and unimportant. In clear self consciousness it is evident that there are some essential forms of fusion in the realization of self and other in self conscious personal relationships. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
