People  are often caught in the double bind of being
coerced into choosing sides between people in conflict who
are being  lead  by  conflicting ideals, values, criteria,
principles, etc.  People who are trapped in  an  addictive
process can not accept different  people as persons.  They
feel that they must be in control.   Another  person   who
does  not  accept  with  appreciation  their   controlling
maneuvers thus risks rejection.  The controlling maneuvers
are  usually presented  as  being motivated by respectable
ideals,    principles,   values,   etc.    The  threatened
rejections are similarly presented.   Yet, the persons who
are trapped as participants in addictive processes  do not
serve to promote a  coherent  balance between personal and
communal integrity.    Addictive processes  lead people to
serve self centered needs through disintegrative behaviors
