Wise self regard promotes personal and communal
integrity.
Scientists' preoccupations divert attention away from
the development of principles of and intuition for wise
self regard. Scientists' drive for perfect objectivity
focuses attention exclusively upon objective, non-
personal, considerations.
All personal considerations indirectly entail self
regard, self-referential considerations which are
inconsistent with being objective; i.e., being like
objects which interact with each other without self-
regard, self-consciousness. The scientists' principles
for understanding objective interactions include none
which point to forces dependent upon self regard
among the interacting objects. Objects behave
according to forces they exert upon each other in a
theory which includes only zero-order forces as
regards mirroring. Higher order forces are higher
order only with regards to variability in space and
time, not with regards to mirroring in the eternal now
of mutual and self regard.
Scientists do not deal with the dynamics of I-Thou
relationships because they are not relationships extended
over space and time with which they can deal with in
objective ways. Scientists focus most of our
attention upon objective, non-personal considerations,
and so divert our attention away from the development of
principles of and intuition for wise self regard.
They inhibit the development of wise self-regard which
promotes personal and communal integrity.
Without patterns of wise self regard on the part of
members of a community---the members of the community
fail to live with personal integrity, and the community
fails to live with communal integrity. The collection of
people acts more like a collection of interacting objects
which exert objective forces upon each other over
space and time. They understand each other and their
relationships in objective terms rather than in terms
of wise self regard which promotes personal and
communal integrity. Without integrity they are confused,
frustrated, violent, and self destructive; perhaps to the
point of extinction.
