     Cooperation  is made possible by the use of  commonly
understood languages,  concepts,  assumptions,  attitudes,
paradigms,  etc.   Unrecognized and unwelcome differences
can undermine cooperation,   putting people who presumably
are  trying  to help each other into  conflict  with  each
other.   Even such conflict can be unrecognized, resulting
in  ineffective cooperation.    People's efforts may be at
cross  purposes---without  the people recognizing  what is
happening.   In  a tragic way the unrecognized differences
which  generate  the unrecognized conflicts---may  at  the
same time undermine the dialogue which is  needed  to come
to  recognize  the differences and  consequent  conflicts.
This makes  it  extremely important to seek to be involved
in  intimate dialogue   in  the   hopes   of   discovering
previously unrecognized differences and conflicts---in the
hope of resolving them.

     Often  people differ as to what they should do  about
the differences which they discover between themselves and
others.   Often people want to eliminate such  differences
via  various  types  of  conformity,   including  coercive
conformity.    Mature  people  seek  to   creatively   use
