Businessmen use cosmetic relationships in many of their sales promotional activities. Non-profit philanthropic organizations use cosmetic relationships in many of their solicitations for contributions to their worthy causes; e.g, churches, social welfare agencies, missions, hospitals, colleges, etc. The cosmetic industry is dedicated to providing the perspectives and equipment essential to maintaining cosmetic relationships based upon attractive human bodies. The cosmetic industry promotes the perspective that human fulfillment is dependent upon and assured by appropriate uses of their subjective technology. They promote the notion that fulfillment can be achieved through the use of manipulative procedures---which will be profitable to their stock holders. They ignore the essential aspects of meaningful human relationships and cover them with a mask of fashion of their own design for their own profit. Those who buy their package become their servants, if not their slaves. They become enslaved, to maintaining cosmetic relationships which are very fragile and may break down if others succeed in seeing through the skin-deep mask. The insecurity of the procedure promotes fear which promotes intensified dedication to sophistication of the cosmetic technology. Thus the enslavement to the cosmetic industry is assured. Cosmetic relationships are encouraged by the ethos of a technocratic society in which most relationships are manipulative. Any effort to transcend cosmetic relationships will be futile in the absence of an effort to transcend the fundamental absurdities of the technocratic society. An inadequate effort is likely, to fail. To try to succeed superficially will be futile. The goal must be more transcendent than to correct one symptom of a large problem/dilemma. The large problem must be recognized and dealt with. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
