Some seem to be able to recall to mind rather vivid and detailed pictorial images of past visual scenes; even in three-dimensional color. Others hardly ever or never experience visual images through recollection. People with vivid visual memories have an easier time remembering and recognizing other people, and so are more likely to be person oriented, than are individuals without vivid visual memories. They are more able to engage in visual fantasies and so be motivated to realize their visual fantasies; be they artistic, fabricative, or sexual in nature. Thus such persons are more likely to be oriented towards relationships with particular activities and people. They are more likely to become emotionally and sexually involved early in life, and develop that side of their personality early---before intellectual development becomes dominant. People without visual memories have a difficult time remembering and recognizing other people, and so are unlikely to be person oriented. They cannot engage in visual fantasies and so cannot be motivated to realize visual fantasies; be they artistic, fabricative, or sexual in nature. Such persons are thus likely to be oriented to abstractions and relationships which are not essentially visual in nature. Their emotional and sexual development may not occur fully during the adolescent years. Their intellectual development may become dominant before their emotional and sexual development becomes securely established. Thus people without visual memories may have a greater tendency to become technical in an exclusive way which causes them to value people as individuals less than they value generalizations, principles, ethics, morality, laws, and abstract systems for the regulation of human life. In the light of the above possibilities it might be helpful to seek to determine the nature and extent of individual differences in peoples' visual memory and visual fantasy abilities.
