In the service of this intent experiments are designed and volumes of data collected. Complex systems of analysis, both inductive and deductive, are created through the imagination and fantasy of men and then regarded as having a reality which transcends their origin. In the seeking of a comprehensive mutual understanding of the nature of reality complex systems of information dissemination, management, and retrieval are created. There is an area of concern to which scientists have been inattentive. It pertains to a form of information retrieval. While developing technocratic systems of information retrieval are futile attempts to avoid the need to attend to facilitating a more pervasive personal dedication to openness on the part of self and other. If self and other are not free to choose to be dedicated to openness important information about self and other and about the nature of reality will be repressed and so unavailable for logical consideration. No volumes of information relevant to academic puzzles will substitute with helpful power for repressed information regarding the limitations of science and the essential role which dealing with finitude plays in the life of an honest real person. To ignore the nature of man, and his tendency to repress certain kinds of information is to sabotage the most essential information retrieval system available to modern science. Those who have most intimately participated in a well defined group share the collusions of the group and so are not qualified to transcend the traditional patterns of information repression. Thus they can not helpfully contribute to the exposure of the unexamined assumptions which block the humane growth of the group. Thus natural scientists would be wise to turn to competent psychologists, psychiatrists, sociologists, philosophers, and theologians for assistance in transcending the blockages to information retrieval which cause them to arrive at invalid conclusions through the use of good logic and a limited awareness of relevant fundamentals regarding the nature of man and his essential finitude which is hard to deal with honestly.
