It may help to be-intentional about trying to identify the particular differences in particular situations of conflict. Consider the follwing kinds of differences which are difficult-to-recognize: 1. "Truths" which are "obviously-true", never- thought-about and never questioned --- by people on one side of a conflict --- May NOT be "obviously-true" and are instead tacitly "thought" to be "obviously-false"; never- thought-about, never worthy-of-consideration, and are never considered as being possibly "obvious" to any people anywhere. What is "obviously-TRUE and un-questionable" and never thought about --- on one side, may be equally "obviously-FALSE" and equally never thought about --- on another side. Both that which is "obviously-true" and "obviously-false" may be "unthinkable" and exist only in the realm of the unconscious on all sides of a conflict --- without any awareness of what "it" is. Those in-conflict cannot address that which is the root of their conflict --- because on both sides "it" is "unthinkable" and they are not aware of "it" in any way. On both sides there may be a taboo against bringing "it" to consciousness. All people on all sides may be playing collusive games of mutual self deception about "it"; regardless of whether they assume that "it" is "obviously- true", or "obviously-false". (They may be doing something other than playing such games.) 2. Paradigms, Procedures, Rituals, Technologies, Ideals, Values, Principles, Commandments, Laws, etc. which are "obviously-valid", never-thought-about and never questioned by people on one side of a conflict --- May NOT be "obviously-VALID" and are instead tacitly "thought" to be "obviously-NOT-VALID"; never-thought-about, never worthy-of-consider- ation, and never considered as being possibly "obvious" to any people. What is "obviously-valid and un- questionable" and never thought about --- on one side, may be equally "obviously-NOT-valid" and equally never thought about --- on another side. Both that which is "obviously-valid" and that which is "obviously-NOT-valid" --- may be "unthinkable" and exist only in the realm of the unconscious on all sides of a conflict --- without anybody being aware of what "it" is. Those in-conflict cannot address that which is the root of their conflict --- because on both sides it is "unthinkable" and they are not aware of "it" in any way. On both sides it may be taboo to bring "it" to consciousness. All people on all sides may be playing collusive games of mutual self deception about "it"; regardless of whether they assum that "it" is obviously-valid, or obviously-NOT-valid. (They may be doing something other than playing such games.) 3. Humane-Relationships, Blessings, Peace-Making, Conflict-Resolutions, Reconciliations, Forms-of- Cooperation, Forms-of-Sharing, and True-Sanctuaries which are "Obviously-Impossible and Not-Desirable", never- thought-about and never considered by people on one side of a conflict --- May NOT appear to be "Obviously-IMpossible"; and may instead appear to be be "Obviously- Possible and Clearly-Desirable"; taken-for- granted; and never considered as appearing to be "Obviously-IMpossible and Not-Desirable", never- thought-about and never considered --- by people on another side of a conflict. What is "Obviously-IMpossible and Not- Desirable" and never thought about --- on one side, may be equally "Obviously-Possible and Clearly-Desirable" --- and equally never thought about --- on another side. Both that which appears to be "Obviously- IMpossible and Not-Desirable" and that which appears to be "Obviously-Possible and Clearly- Desirable" may be "unthinkable" and exist only in the realm of the unconscious on ALL sides of a conflict --- without any awareness of what "it" is. Those in-conflict may not be able address that which is the root of their conflict --- because on both sides it is "unthinkable" and they are not aware of "it" in any way. On both sides it may be taboo to bring "it" to consciousness. All people on all sides may be playing collusive games of mutual self deception about "it"; regardless of whether "it" appears to be "Obviously-IMpossible and Not-Desirable" or "it" appears to be "Obviously-Possible and Clearly-Desirable".
