Ask people: 1. What they affirm in the most positive terms; e.g., how can we more helpfully spend our time, energies, money and resources --- and for what reasons would it be more helpful to spend as they recommend; rather than as has often be done? Ask them to recommend how to improve our whole spectrum of priorities. 2. What virtues, ideals, values and principles they regard as the foundations for diverse personal and communal integrities. 3. What they regard the essence of "evil" to be; and what they regard as the essence of "goodness" to be. How are the two to be recognized, identified, distinguished and responded to? 4. What we should be most fearful of, and what they view as not meriting much fear --- even though many people may fear that which does not merit much fear? 5. What is the best way to deal with the fears which most commonly plague humans? 6. What are the most helpful ways to deal with people who often blunder, make mistakes, make errors in judgment, are not loyal, behave improperly, etc. 7. Which leaders they most admire; least admire. By how people respond to the questions suggested above we can elicit responses which are quite revealing as to what kinds of people they are. As indicated in previous essays --- true-lovers will demonstrate one kind of pattern of thoughts, attitudes and assumptions; and domineering people will demonstrate quite a different pattern of thoughts, attitudes and assumptions. True-lovers usually demonstrate personal and communal integrities which make no sense to domineering people. Domineering people, even when trying to appear to be respectable, trustworthy and righteous --- give signals which are inconsistent with the patterns of thoughts, attitudes and assumptions of true-lovers. They reveal their true nature quite clearly to true-lovers who think clearly and carefully. Domineering people do not know how to conceal their true natures from true-lovers. True-lovers try to reveal their true natures to domineering people; but domineering people do not dare to discern that which true-lovers seek to reveal --- because it would devastate "The Domination System" that domineering people worship --- and to which they readily sacrifice whatever shreds of integrity they may still have within themselves and their relationships with others. Domineering people do NOT want to know and understand true-lovers, and so cannot manipulate true-lovers --- no matter how hard they try. To understand true-lovers they would have to let go of "The Domination System" which is their God. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
