Is it because: 1. God forbids our doing so? 2. "The Domination System" forbids our doing so? 3. Religious leaders undermine our doing so? 4. Political leaders mislead us away from doing so? 5. Family considerations stand in the way? 6. Scholars mislead us away from common senses? 7. Scientists focus our attention upon objects? 8. Business leaders focus us upon our greed? 9. Multinational corporations focus attention away? 10. It is naturally dangerous to do so? 11. It is too complicated to do so well? 12. Exclusive concerns stand in the way of balance? 13. Doing so would embarrass our whole culture? 14. Doing so would undermine our "good" orders? 15. Our provincial meanings would be threatened? 16. We fear extending such experiences very far? 17. We fear unknown relationships and possibilities? Question: Is it impossible, forbidden or taboo to imagine or envision the healthy creation of healthy sanctuary communities --- within which different people could be safely vulnerable (truly secure) while being open and honest about their own most meaningful, intimate and sexual relationships/experiences? What stands in the way? Why? Questions: Is it safe to say clearly what stands in our way? Why not? Questions: How can we cooperate to make it safer to clearly articulate/describe what stands in our way? Why not do so? Questions: Which of our principalities, powers and/or angels most stand in our ways; and block openness, honesty and true lovers? Why? Questions: What is God's role in all of this? Where is God to be found in relation to what these questions point to? If God is NOT to be found ANYWHERE in relation to what these questions point to; then of what relevance is God to us and our relationships? (c) 2005 by Paul A. Smith in (On Being Yourself, Whole and Healthy) ==========================================================
