     Ask a defensive person what they are afraid of.      
       They may say that they are not afraid of anything, 
         because they think that their defenses are good, 
           and will be perfectly effective.  Their un-    
             WARranted self confidence may hide fears     
               which occasion their defensive measures.   
                 Being in self-denial about emotions that 
                   motivate and guide behaviors, sets the 
                     stage for playing collusive games    
                       of mutual self deception. Such     
                         dishonesty undermines both       
                           personal and communal forms    
                             of integrity --- leading
