In the views of domineering people, those who are "different" have a duty to conform to what the domineering people say is right. It is the expectations of the domineering people that must be "fulfilled". In the views of domineering people "different" people do not have any right to be "different" just because they were born with "different": parents, skin-color, genetic-codes, and heritages related to national-origin, music, art, culture, and religious beliefs. Do domineering people have a right to be "domineering", "manipulators", "controllers", "arrogant", "self-righteous", "coercive" & "violent"? Who gave domineering people such "rights"? Who volunteered to support such "rights"? What can be done about domineering people claiming that they have such "rights"; without in the process claiming for oneself such "rights" which other "different" people should NOT have? How can we end the cycle of violence without joining in creating additional cycles of violence? How can we resist violence while remaining non-violent in our efforts to resist violence. Who has shown the way, the thought patterns, the attitudes, and the patterns of understanding/subversion which have been successful in resisting violence without augmenting further violence? Can people who have traditionally been violent learn how to cooperate in the absence of violence? Are there people who were previously violent, who are now living peacefully with each other in civil/cooperative neighborhoods? Where are they? If we accept the notion that some domineering people should have the right to demand/require that certain "different" people change or be eliminated --- the stage is thereby set for endless violent conflicts between different domineering peoples. We need to have criteria which transcend mere "differences" in deciding which kinds of inter-personal RELATIONSHIPS merit our respect, honor and support; and which do not. For our various kinds of integrities to survive --- we need to respect, honor and support RELATIONSHIPS characterized by: HONESTY OPENNESS AUTHENTICITY CLARITY TRANSPARENCY MUTUALITY BALANCE COOPERATION COHERENCE INTEGRATION INTEGRITY HEALTH CIVILITY HOSPITALITY SHALOM TOLERANCE CREATIVITY SPONTANEITY (c) 2005 by Paul A.
