Often it is not clear to what extent salvation pertains to one or more of the following: 1. People as individual beings, 2. Personal relationships, 3. Communities as such, 4. Impersonal things, abstractions & circumstances. 5. Some "source(s)" which are external to people. Often it is not clear to what extent salvation pertains to being "saved from" or "liberated from": 1. External constraints, bonds, threats, violence, 2. Dysfunctional relationships, 3. Addictive communities and dependencies, 4. Coveted things, abstractions, circumstances, 5. Codependent attachments and forms of service. If there is little or no clarity about any of the above --- it is unlikely that any salvation which is "experienced" is likely to be powerful or empowering to people who are weak, poor and/or vulnerable. The "salvation" which is "experienced" may in fact, but little more than some aspect of a pattern of collusive games of mutual self deception. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
