Even so it is often helpful to recognize, describe and talk about dichotomous patterns within personal and communal: ASSUMPTIONS ATTITUDES BELIEFS PERCEPTIONS THINKING IDEALS VALUES DECISIONS & BEHAVIORS. 1. People and communities THAT ARE NOT seeking to widen their horizons, mutual understanding and perceptual paradigms --- USUALLY ARE slipping into narrower and increasingly exclusive views of the world, each other, and ways of being together in communities which are integrative and healthy. 2. People and communities THAT ARE NOT profoundly dedicated to facilitating and promoting open and honest dialogue among differing people --- USUALLY ARE slipping into misleading patterns of personal and communal relationships and activities. 3. People and communities THAT DO NOT recognize, describe, talk about, and work to transcend: collusions, addictions and patterns of codependent behavior --- USUALLY ARE slipping into disintegrative prisons which they construct. 4. People and communities THAT ARE NOT dedicated to and involved in works of reconciliation, peacemaking, and conflict resolution --- USUALLY ARE involved in patterns of alienation, contentious conflicts and technocratic violence --- which lead to personal and communal disintegration. 5. People and communities THAT ARE NOT sensitive to and attentive to the interdependence between PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS as creators of people, and PEOPLE as creators of PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS --- USUALLY ARE involved in DISINTEGRATIVE RELATIONSHIPS which are alienative, contentious, conflicted, and technocratically violent. 6. People and communities THAT ARE NOT sensitive to and attentive to the importance of both objective and reflexive relationships --- USUALLY ARE split into mutually misunderstanding factions which value objective or reflexive relationships to the exclusion of each other. 7. People and communities THAT ARE NOT respectful of the essentially different roles which different people play in maintaining the integrity of their community as a healthy whole --- USUALLY ARE disintegrating into factions which are dedicated to facilitating each other faction's disintegration. Most people find it difficult to DESCRIBE the above contrasts without becoming focused upon blaming, shaming, excluding, alienating and condemning people whom they do not know, understand, respect or trust. This is especially true of people who are imprisoned in disintegrative patterns of: ASSUMPTIONS ATTITUDES BELIEFS PERCEPTIONS THINKING IDEALS VALUES DECISIONS & BEHAVIORS. Such people are prone to perceive and understand accurate descriptions of such patterns --- in ways which focus upon blaming, shaming, excluding, alienating and condemning people whom they do not know, understand, respect or trust. The tragic situations are usually highly reflexive in ways which cannot be understood in exclusively objective ways. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
