     The   following  are  among the reliable  indications                                                                     
of our degrees of alienation from each other:                                        
                                                                                                                               
     1.  The levels of self-righteousness  with  which  we       
regard   our  own "virtues"  ---  in comparison with  each                   
other's signs of "depravity".                                                               
                                                                                                                               
     2.  The levels of coercion and violence which we  are           
willing   to go  to ---  in our efforts to   control  each                                                           
other's patterns of ---  attitudes, perceptions, thoughts,        
desires, intentions, decisions and behaviors.          
                                                                                                                               
     3.  The    levels    alienative    and    destructive                                        
technologies  which  we are willing  to  invent,   design,                                                  
create, threaten to use,  and  actually use in our efforts                         
to  achieve "security",  "peace",  "invulnerability",  and                                                                     
"control"  in the presence of our "enemies"  ---  at their                                                           
expense.                                                                                                                       
                                                                                                                               
     4.  How proud we are of the above "achievements".                                               
                                                                                                                               
     5.  How  blind  we are to the levels of estrangement,                                               
alienation, and destruction entailed in the above patterns                                        
---   of  attitudes,   perceptions,   thoughts,   desires,        
intentions, decisions and behaviors.                                                       
                                                                                                                               
     6.  How  self-righteously we regard our own  uses  of       
our  own  alienative  technologies  of  self-defense   and                   
coercive   manipulations   ---  and how  we  regard  other                                 
people's "inferior":  attitudes,  perceptions,   thoughts,        
desires, intentions,  decisions and behaviors.          
                                                                                                                               
     7.  Our levels of preoccupation with making ourselves                                                            
be ---   or appear to be ---  "better" than others whom we

     9.  How  prone  we  are to forgive  in  ourselves and                                               
our   friends ---  what we refuse to tolerate  in   others                                                            
whom we exclude from our exclusive zones of comfort.                       
                                                                                                                               
     We   will  not   enjoy  either  personal  or communal                                                                
integrity  ---  unless we repent and diligently turn  away      
from   the alienative patterns of attitudes,  perceptions,        
thoughts, desires,   intentions,   decisions and behaviors
