They are so extreme in their dedication to their conflicting causes --- that they are unwilling to participate in open and honest dialogue, conflict- resolution or efforts at reconciliation and mutual understanding. We need to recognize, describe and talk about both fragmentive extremists and about their fragmentive behaviors --- without adopting their ways and becoming preoccupied with labels, names, judgments, condemnations, shaming, guilting and punishing.
