A father who is willing to accept any of his children who come back home---even after imprudent adventures of exploration which were not wise. In the image which Jesus painted through his birth, life, teachings, death and resurrection---there is no suggestion of coercion, condemnation, excommunication, alienation or estrangement chosen/initiated by God. Some religious leaders who call themselves Christian do not approve of the loving image of God as painted by Jesus. They have appointed themselves to re-touch the image of God so that it includes legalistic judgements, coercion, condemnations, excommunications, alienations and exclusivity chosen/initiated by God. Their re-touched image of God looks much like the God pictured in the Old Testament and the God served by religious leaders who encouraged Roman authorities to put Jesus to Death. Such religious leaders are the disciples of the leaders who encouraged Roman authorities to crucify Jesus. (c) 2005 by Paul A.
