They desire to be together and to work cooperatively in doing things together---and find pleasure thereby. Each is competent to live their own life and take care of themselves---yet feels fulfilled in cooperation with the other. True lovers are not primarily motivated and guided by by: laws, rules, regulations, commandments, prescriptions, proscriptions, prohibitions and taboos. True lovers are motivated and guided by their desires to be in open and honest dialogue with each other as integrative persons who are contributing the the integrity of the community. Descriptions of how true lovers live their lives cannot be transformed into helpful prescriptions telling other how they should live their lives. Writing out prescriptions in the manner of a scribe does not make the written prescriptions more authoritative and helpful than original open and honest descriptions offered by true lovers based upon their own experiences and perceptions. Collecting such prescriptions together in books of holy scriptures does not create thereby anything worthy of worship, adoration and unquestioned obedience. Committees and legislatures cannot gather together selections of prescriptions and create anything more authoritative than the open and honest descriptions offered by true lovers of their own experiences and perceptions. Consensus regarding the factors present in respectable lives is often reached by finding the least common denominator in the lives of respectable people. Not all integrative lovers are respectable people---may of them get crucified because of their creativity and honesty. True lovers are the authorities on the ways of true love. Abstractions and generalizations do not get to the heart of the matter any better than original open and honest descriptions offered by true lovers telling about their own experiences and perceptions.
