Compulsively objective scientists usually ignore the following facts about differences between human observers of reality --- in order to make it easier to maintain their myth of objectivity and lack of bias. Human observers differ in regards to: 1. Heredity which affects thought processes; e.g., object-oriented versus person-oriented people. 2. Sensitivities of sense organs which affect which frequencies of sound and light are detected; e.g., color blindness. 3. Personal histories which affect interpretations of new experiences. 4. Internalized ideals and values which affect which sense organ sensations are focused upon more than others. 5. Cultural backgrounds which lead to different foci of attention. 6. Language which affect the structuring of thought processes and articulations. 7. Educational training which lead to the use of differing paradigms in the analysis of experiences. 8. Religious backgrounds which lead to different dispositions in interpreting observations. Different people approach their differing environments in different ways. The only way to generate total agreement regarding the "nature of reality" is to get a select group of people who are very much alike to agree to work in terms of one common myth and methodology. Full agreement in the determination of the "nature of reality" is generated by being selective in regards to the personal characteristics of the participants in the "determination" and by agreement among the participants in regards to the research: methods, tools, technologies, language and modes of publication. Such a "determination" is of course not universal because of the selective/exclusive aspects of the "determination." (c) 2005 by Paul A. Smith in (On Being Yourself, Whole and Healthy) ==========================================================
