%INSTITUTION ENCOURAGE CREATIVE CONFORMITY PARADIGM 960724

     By  and  large  even the  best  institutions  promote
conformity   to   paradigms  rather  than   the   creative
transcendence of the limit actions of paradigms.

     Any system of rewarding outstanding people must  rely
upon   some   set  of  standards  for  defining   who   is
outstanding.    The outstanding people must be outstanding
in some sense before they can be recognized and  rewarded.
There must be some criteria in terms of which people  have
already  recognized them,  have nominated them,  and  have
evaluated  them.    Those  criteria have to  do  with  the
paradigm  within  which  the  "outstanding  people"    are
regarded as outstanding.

     The most  creative  people  work  to  transcend   the
limitations of paradigms.   They are bound to be a  threat
to  people who are seeking recognition by conforming fully
to  the dictates of the paradigm.   They are a  threat  to
people  who  are playing collusive games  of  mutual  self
deception.    They  are  not  likely  to  be  regarded  as
"outstanding"   in any favorable way while they are  being
truly  creative.   It is only in retrospect that they  are
likely  to  be regarded as truly creative because  of  how
honest they were in dealing with their own experiences and
the  experiences  of  others.     It  is  only  after  the
limitations  of  some paradigm have be made clear by  them
that  they  come to be recognized as the founders of  some
new  paradigm which transcends the limitations of a former
