     Insecure people  often  seek  to  minimize  their own
embarrassments   by  trying  to  control  other   people's
potentially embarrassing behaviors.   The more power  such
people have, the more damage they are likely to do through
their   efforts  to  control  other  people's  potentially
embarrassing behaviors.

     Insecure people are often embarrassed by  revelations
of  their insecurity,  ignorance,  incompetence,  lack  of
mature  experiences,   and  their  dishonest  manipulative
behaviors.    Thus,   such  people seek to  control  other
people's  behaviors which might expose  their  insecurity,
ignorance, incompetence, lack of  mature experiences,  and
their    dishonest   manipulative    behaviors.       Such
embarrassing  or potentially embarrassing   behaviors  are
made to appear to be inherently evil, and those people who
engage  in such embarrassing behaviors are made to  appear
to be inherently evil.

     Ignorance  on  the part of others is desirable in the
eyes of insecure people who are  seeking to minimize their
embarrassment  through  their  control of  other  people's
potentially embarrassing behaviors; i.e.,  behaviors which
might reveal feared truths.   Embarrassment usually has to
do with the revelation of some kind of feared truths.

     How  are  we  to  differentiate  between  truly  evil
behavior---and other  behaviors  which  make  embarrassing
behaviors   appear  to  be  evil  in  order  to   minimize
embarrassment  to insecure powerful people?    It  is  not
either  simple or easy to make the  distinctions---because
of  the  attempts  by powerful people  to  minimize  their
embarrassments.    The distinction is also blurred by  how
often  people regard non-conformity and/or disobedience as
the essence of evil behavior.

     The   essence  of  evil  behavior  has  to  do   with
alienation;   not with non-conformity and/or disobedience.
If  non-conformity and/or disobedience are regarded as the
essence of evil---thereby powerful people are empowered to
set  the standard for conformity and obedience which  will
define  which people will be judged to be evil;  and which
people  will be judged to be "good".   Then the difference
between  being  "good"   and  being  "evil"   is   clearly
controlled by "might" not by being right, true, honest, or
integrative.

     We need to be clear about the real difference between
"good"   and "evil"  behavior---and to see clearly how and
why  powerful  people  would prefer to  have  us  see  the
difference   as  having  to  do  with  conformity   and/or
obedience---in  keeping  with  standards set  by  powerful
people.     Powerful  people  are  embarrassed  when   the
difference between "good" behavior and "evil"  behavior is
made  clear  by  honest  people  who  enjoy  personal  and
communal integrity---for then the dishonest and  deceptive
ways  of powerful people are  exposed to the light of  the
