Some people do so with integrity and focus upon people's rights to be accepted as members of God's extended family; with rights to fulfill their God- given creative potentials; to be truly themselves in their own unique ways. Such people see it as their duty and responsibility to promote personal and communal integrity by defending other people's rights. Not all people view human rights in that way. Some people view themselves as having the right to define their own rights in their own ways---and focus upon defining their own rights to their own advantage; and so to the disadvantage of others. They focus upon issues of control of: territory, mates, nesting sites, food supplies, resources, associates, etc. They view it as their right to issues and carry out threats in manipulative maneuvers. They do not view rights as placing responsibilities upon them; but as giving them advantages over others. Their ways of relating to others promote personal and communal disintegration. They relate as authoritarians who seek to be in control in efforts to achieve some sense of security---because they are very insecure at heart; but they cannot admit that to anybody.
