People who are compulsively objective may object to being openly and honestly reflexive and/or will not respect anybody who is being openly and honestly reflexive. This makes it difficult if the compulsively objective person is a powerful member of a family, school, church, work-setting, political setting, etc. 2. One's own ideals, values, goals, principles and traditional desires may not be compatible with being reflexively honest/true with/to self and others; because deception, dishonesty, secrecy and misleading behavior are regarded as essential tools to getting ahead successfully. 3. One may have no healthy role models of being openly and honestly reflexive. 4. People who have been openly and honestly reflexive may not have been highly respected and supported in ways which would encourage one to be openly and honestly reflexive. 5. People who have been secretive and deceptively manipulative may have been highly respected and supported in ways which encourage such disintegrative behavior patterns. (c) 2005 by Paul A. Smith in (On Being Yourself, Whole and Healthy) ==========================================================
