This is especially so for those forms of bias which are manipulative and prone to be respected due to manipulations by the biased persons. People who are preoccupied with issues of control are usually biased in one way or another. They cannot transcend their preoccupations with issues of control and so see all situations in terms of who is in control, who is not in control, who should be in control, etc. People who lack humility and demonstrate arrogance are biased in ways which will lead to tragic consequences. They cannot see situations without preoccupations regarding how they will increase or decrease their levels of power, respect, self esteem and self confidence. People who are preoccupied with being objective, scientific, quantitative and certain---are biased by the values and ideals which they affirm implicitly but are not free to examine in open and honest dialogue. They pretend not to be involved in any reflexive behaviors--- even as they affirm the ideals and values of not being involved in any reflexive behaviors. Their dishonesty leads to bias. Religious leaders who are preoccupied with rules, commandments, scriptures, prohibitions, etc. which are often used as the basis for judgmental condemnations--- are biased in favor of alienation and estrangement--- and biased against conflict resolution and reconciliation.
