People who are preoccupied with issues of control are not interested in clarifying the issues to which the above questions point---or they oppose the clarification of issues to which the above questions point. Confused people are more easily manipulated, coerced and taken advantage of---than are people who are clear, open and honest in their dealings with each other---so controllers prefer confused people to people who are clear about what is essential to the enjoyment of personal and communal integrity.
