     If  we  internalize the belief  that  all  activities
which are worthy  of  respect  entail  in  essential ways:
measurements,   quantitative  considerations,    numerical
analysis, computations, mathematics, accuracy, etc. --- we
become victims of conflicts between such a belief and  our
need  for  the  benefits  of  contemplation,   meditation,
relaxation,  dialogue,  and prayer---none of which qualify
for  respect in the view of the internalized belief.    We
may be trapped in a double bind---even if the internalized
belief is never articulated in any way.

     Unarticulated beliefs often engender  conflicts which
are   particularly  difficult  to  resolve---because   the
conflicts which they engender are usually implicit, tacit,
unspoken and unconscious.   The conflicts are difficult to
resolve  even  if  the  conflicts  are  not  protected  by
collusions;  and they are exceedingly difficult to resolve
