Humans were unable to respond to many of our common diseases so long as we were ignorant of human physiology: how the heart, blood system, lungs, digestive system, lymph system and immune system work in response to threats of bacteria, viruses, molds, and prions as disease causing agents. As our awareness of the full scope of disease causing agents expands we need to consider the ways in which PATTERNS OF DISHONESTY play roles in facilitating disease, if not outright causing dis-ease. Isolated cases of dishonesty are much less dangerous than are patterns of dishonesty which occur in the lives of addicts, their codependent supporters and within collusive games of mutual self deception---whether highly respected or not. It is clear that there is much dis-ease which is not the direct result of identifiable bacteria, viruses, molds or prions. It is natural to be ill-at-east in the presence of dishonest people whom it is not prudent to fully trust. If we are persistently in the presence of such people; it is natural to fall victim of diseases which are not triggered by identifiable bacteria, viruses, molds or prions. The clear articulation of the etiology of such diseases may be a first step towards dealing wisely with them and the distress which they occasion. We are dis-eased when we are driven and guided by fear, pain, anxiety, apprehension, doubts and compulsions. When we are so dis-eased our defensive efforts do not lead us to true security---and in fact usually our defensive efforts lead us into progressive stages of personal and communal disintegration.
