For both personal and communal integrity to grow and survive it is essential that there be the integration within particular individuals---of expertise in objective- scientific considerations and expertise in affective- reflexive considerations. So long as people do not share the vision of such integration of expertise with regards to objective-scientific consideration and expertise with regards to affective-reflexive considerations---so long it will be impossible for people to enjoy both personal and communal integrity with true security which is free from the threats of fear. People who are exclusively objective-scientific in their expertise are unable to engage in open and honest dialogue with people who are exclusively affective- reflexive in their expertise. Such people are bound to regard each other with suspicions, doubts, fear, apprehension, insecurity and defensive instincts in high gear. They are bound to react within their mode of specialization---without regard to the complementary mode of specialization of the other. Reflexive reactions are bound to be disintegrative when such reactions undermine open and honest dialogue. Experts who are specialists who are unable to be in dialogue with each other for lack of a common set of shared experiences and shared languages---are people who can not cooperate, and cannot resolve conflicts in integrative ways. Narrowly specialized experts are bound to try to eliminate the threats which they see each other present by trying to eliminate each other, they are not trying to understand each other through open and honest dialogue which entails being free to be safely vulnerable to each other through freely giving and accepting gifts of true security. Security is not achieved through narrow specialization on the part of some people using defensive technologies of objective manipulations, threats and control. Such specialization leads to experts in defensive technologies who exclude from their lives respect for affective-reflexive experiences and maturity. Such specialization in like manner leads to experts in affective-reflexive experiences and maturity who exclude from their lives respect for objective manipulations. Each group of experts has from their point of view very good reasons for not respecting the expertise of their complimentary/contrasting opposites. So long as people array themselves opposite each other as experts in mutually exclusive camps of over- specialization---they are bound to regard each other as threatening armies ready to do battle with the absurdities of each others' exclusivities. Regarding each other as threatening armies leads them all away from both personal and communal integrity---through the disintegration of all possible grounds for respect and mutual understanding. Personal and communal integrity are both threatened when people and communities thoughtlessly accept the assumption that there is no hazard in respecting specialized experts in objective-scientific considerations who are effectively-reflexively impoverished and immature; and likewise thoughtlessly accepting the assumption that there is no hazard in respecting specialized experts in reflexive human relationships who are objectively- scientifically impoverished and immature. For personal and communal integrity to increase it is essential that the process of integration of objectivity- science and affection-reflexivity occur within the attitudes, assumptions, beliefs and total lives of people and their leaders; not merely within the texts of leading scholarly journals.
