People are impotent in may ways. People do not have the power, and cannot have the power, to control most of what the paradigms claim people can have the power to control. The paradigms are essentially dishonest to the core. 2. The paradigms encourage people to be concerned with issues of propriety defined without integrative regard for the people's essences, hearts, minds, souls, and bodies. The paradigms lead people to try to live lives defined by externals --- without respect for their need to be true to themselves and each other in open and honest intimate relationships which are reflexive; not objective and dominated by external objective realities. 3. People who are preoccupied with issues of control are bound to engender and heighten personal conflicts by being personal incarnations of conflicting ideals, values, goals, principles, injunctions, prohibitions, prescriptions, and proscriptions. They are not focused upon being true to themselves or each other. They are not focused upon seeking honesty, integrity, wholeness, health and balance through true conflict-resolution. 4. The paradigms lead people to protect the paradigms through the playing of a multitude of collusive games of mutual self-deception. A clear description of the rules of the paradigms and their protective games is forbidden---to insure that the powerful people of the paradigms have available the potent tools of confusion, ambiguity, forgetfulness and fear to use in their efforts to be in control.
