It is not helpful to ignore legitimate legislation which has been properly passed and published. It is not helpful to respect people who do ignore people's desires and/or legitimate legislation. There are often tensions between the desires of people and the mandates of legitimate legislation. In the passage of legislation the desires of people should be respected. People with conflicting desires should give due consideration as regards legitimate legislation. Balanced consideration should be given to both. Conflicts between desires and legislation are not resolved by ignoring either, or by letting one dominate the other. Often people behave as if legislation has been passed, when it has not. Conflicts often occur between inaccurate views of what has been legislated. Often people behave as if what they think should be legislated has in fact been legislated. Such pseudo legislation rarely shows respect for real people's desires. Such pseudo legislation is usually "passed" by addictive people who are preoccupied with issues of control.
