Being unfamiliar with personal emotional honesty, openness, intimacy and sexuality, and embarrassed by them; technocrats tend to try to avoid situations which elicit emotional honesty, openness, intimacy and sexual responses. They remain unfamiliar and personally ignorant. Technocrats do not know how to deal with the promptings of Love which are mysterious, beyond scientific understanding and prediction; and thus beyond control. People who are compulsively preoccupied with issues of understanding, prediction and control cannot responsibly/responsively consider responding to the promptings of Love as to when it is wise to LET GO. They want to be in control of when to LET GO of their preoccupation with issues of control, understanding and prediction. They are trapped in a vicious double bind. Scientific analysis and computations will not get to the Ground of Being true to self and others. The Ground of Being does not yield to scientific analysis and computations, remains mysterious, and cannot be scientifically successful in efforts to understand, predict and control everything in terms of scientific analysis, manipulation, computations and control through the use of techniques and technologies grounded in scientific research. The Ground of Being wise regarding the limitations of science and technology cannot be found within scientists and technocrats, within their research and publications, or within their manipulative skills and achievements. The Ground of Being resides elsewhere in the hearts of women and men who are familiar with and honestly acknowledge their limitations, their reflexive relationships and are able to respond honestly to the promptings of Love as to when it is wise to LET GO.
