     It   is  dangerous  to  our  collusions,   addictions
and  codependencies  for us to become intimately  involved
with  people    who   are  not   victims   of   the   same
dishonest perceptions,    hearing and seeing which we are.
Thus  our collusions,   addictions and codependencies work
so  as   to  undermine  honest  intimacy because  of   the
vulnerability which it entails.

     True  intimacy is not possible without honesty  which
makes us vulnerable to others.  If we have some dishonesty
which  we   are trying to hide (even if it  is  dishonesty
which  is hidden  from us in how we dishonestly  perceive,
hear  and see what we do) then it is exceedingly difficult
for us to be truly intimate.

     In  the  light  of  these considerations we  may  see
how  important it is to work to:   resolve conflicts,   to
create secure  contexts for honest dialogue,   to actively
seek  to understand  other people who are quite  different
from  us.  It  is  important  to seek out and to  try   to
understand contrasting cultures,  life styles,  languages,
and  value systems;   for in such understanding may be the
keys  to  the  recognition   of  the  hidden  dishonesties
through   which   we victimize ourselves and  each  other.
How  else can we  hope to  uncover the dishonesties in our
