Individuals do not have the power needed to transcend such cooperative victimizing patterns; if individuals work alone to try to transcend victimization. Because the victimizing patterns are systemic, communal, organizational and cooperative---the process of transcending the victimizing patterns must also be systemic, communal, organizational and cooperative. Pretending otherwise will not make it be so. Pretending otherwise is part of the cooperative victimizing patterns. Individuals can take initiatives which will lead to systemic, communal and organizational efforts to be honest with self and other in search of ways to transcend the victimizing patterns. In the absence of systemic, communal and organizational efforts to be honest with self and others in search of ways to transcend the victimizing patters, the efforts of individuals will ultimately be futile, frustrating and disintegrative. When individuals are not able by trying to make something which is (is-not) true to effectively appear as if it is-not (is) true; then through systemic, communal and organizational dishonesty in addictions, codependencies and collusions many people working together can make it appear to themselves as if it is- not (is) true. Such appearances cost much in time, energy, emotion, anxiety, tension, and in personal and communal disintegrations. Such appearances can be maintained only for limited amounts of time, and at great costs---because communities which maintain such appearances do so in disintegrative ways which cost a great deal to compensate for, even temporarily. The ultimate cost is personal and communal disintegration. (c) 2005 by Paul A. Smith in (On Being Yourself, Whole and Healthy) ==========================================================
