Wisdom is more than information, knowledge, understanding and skill. Wisdom involves integrative use of information, knowledge, understanding and skill; use which leads to an increase in personal and communal integrity. In the absence of wisdom: use may not be made of relevant information, knowledge, understanding and/or skill; or use, which is made, may be disintegrative; or joy and satisfaction may be absent, even when integrative use is made; or wise decisions may be followed by inaction; or distractions may undermine the making of wise decisions; or distractions may undermine wise consideration of relevant information, knowledge, understanding, and/or skill. Addicts and their supportive codependents who are playing games of mutual self deception are unable to enjoy the fruits of wise decisions and actions because they are being distracted by diversionary considerations which tend to block the possibility of making and following through on wise decisions. Addicts and their supportive codependents who are playing games of mutual self deception are unable to enjoy the HONEST fruits of wise decisions and actions; because when they are playing such DISHONEST games they are unable to HONESTLY use reliable information, knowledge, understanding and skill, in HONEST ways which lead to an increase in personal and communal integrity. The DISHONESTY of collusions, addiction and codependence undermines wisdom and the sweet fruits of wisdom through many distractions which tragically originate in: 1. misguided ideals, values, goals, and priorities; 2. confused concepts and language; 3. compulsive habits of mind, heart and spirit; 4. preoccupation with manipulative procedures which violate personal and communal integrity; 5. trying to achieve acceptability, respect and happiness; 6. trying to acquire love, affection, and good feelings; 7. being preoccupied with techniques without due regard to the consequences of such preoccupation; 8. various forms of exclusivity which undermine personal and communal integrity; 9. attempts to conform so as to be good and avoid being evil. 10. regarding God as if He were the most informed, knowledgeable, skillful and powerful addict; and as prone to manipulation in the absence of True wisdom. The enjoyment of the fruits of wise decisions and actions depends upon not being distracted by diversionary considerations which tend to block the possibility of making and thoughtfully following through on wise decisions in enjoyable ways.
